After our 1-night stay at KEIO PLAZA HOTEL TOKYO, my mom and I moved to KEIO PLAZA HOTEL TAMA to spend another night at this room that screams KAWAII and urges us to take pictures of everything inside: HELLO KITTY ROOM ?
Once we checked-in, the receptionist handed us this cute Hello Kitty’s bow key *squeals*:
…and what was waiting for us was this fun, colorful room that has Hello Kitty elements everywhere—from walls to carpet, water bottles to kettle, and from slippers to door signs! *squeals even more*:
If you look a little closer at the doll—which you can take home, you’ll notice that this Hello Kitty is not ordinary, because she has EYELASHES and ROSY PINK CHEEKS, people! So, Sanrio designed this character known as “Princess Kitty” exclusively for KEIO PLAZA HOTEL, and they added the eyelashes and blush to make her look even cuter! Now you know the two keys to achieve a kawaii look ?
They also paid attention to the bathroom and gave it a pink bathtub and Hello Kitty scribbles on the mirror, complete with her bow:
The next morning, we had a simple, yet fulfilling Japanese breakfast buffet which we’ll never get bored of:
If you want to have a full Hello Kitty experience, you can also indulge in Hello Kitty desserts including cakes and beverages at the Lobby Lounge, ‘DUET’:
Ok, now to the highlight of my stay:
I met life-size Hello Kitty! ?
So, KEIO PLAZA HOTEL TAMA just created a new photographic spot at the hotel lobby where guests and visitors can take pictures with a 3D “Princess Kitty” who is wearing a gorgeous pink dress and a tiara at the top of the stairs, anddd this life-size Hello Kitty attended the event to cut the ribbon along with representatives from KEIO PLAZA HOTEL and Sanrio!
I’m so happy to have been a part of this opening ceremony! Thank you, KEIO PLAZA HOTEL and Tokyo Luxey!
She was there only for half an hour, I think, but luckily I got the chance to snap some pictures together, thanks to my mom 🙂
KEIO PLAZA HOTEL TAMA

It’s 30 minutes by train from Shinjuku, 3-minute walk to Tama-Centre Train Station, and only 5-minute walk to Sanrio Puroland, an indoor theme park which I’ve never been, but I’ve seen lots of cute pictures taken inside on Instagram:
Please note that KEIO PLAZA HOTEL TAMA has 248 rooms and only four of them are Hello Kitty Room, so you might want to book early! 🙂
Good news for Sanrio lovers!
KEIO PLAZA HOTEL and Sanrio have decided to add another Sanrio characters themed rooms — two rooms each for “Little Twin Stars” and “My Melody” in June 2019!
